Arizona Child Support Guidelines Attorney

Child support obligations in Arizona (ARS 25.3.20) are determined by a formula that takes into account many different factors. The biggest single factor that reduces child support payments is the amount of custodial and noncustodial parenting time — the less visiting time, the more child support is requested. Additionally, the parent who pays for the children’s medical insurance coverage receives a reduction in the amount of disposable income used for calculation of child support. Other factors include:

  • Income of the parents
  • Age of the child (over the age of 12 — 10 percent bump up)
  • Extraordinary education or medical expenses, day care/preschool/after school increases

He can also assist you when changes in your life have made a modification of your child support payments necessary. Under Arizona law, you can only modify child support when the amount you owe increases or decreases by 15 percent or more.
